Why bone broth/meat soup?
Would you like tips and tricks for making your own bone soup or meat soup? Or other advice on using probiotics for your dog? Then we would like to invite you for more information about this in our group; "questions and tips about health and behavior"
Yes, meat soup or bone broth sounds a little weird, maybe even a little gross. But I can tell you it is recommended, even for people this is a very healthy substance and can heal a lot in the body. The advantage is that it doesn't cost you anything, which is nice to know!
As a homeopath/phytotherapist, I encounter many pets that have symptoms of leaky gut. This means that the openings in the intestinal wall (through which nutrients are absorbed into the blood) are damaged and therefore leak into the blood and cause all kinds of symptoms of illness. Such as autoimmune diseases, allergies, food allergies, itching, coat problems, ear infections, diarrhea, constipation, and so on.
These symptoms and diseases arise as a response by the immune system!
It has been shown again and again that intestinal health is extremely important for a healthy immune system and a healthy animal. Health is therefore determined by the intestines and therefore guiding the intestines in good health, is key for a healthy dog.
A dog that can naturally eat and hunt animals will ingest all these substances. Hair, bones, skin, hooves, and organs, all have a function in the health of your pet. But our lifestyle demands quick applications, so our beloved four-legged friends get quick bickering. A bomb of sugars, grains, fibers, and food that does not contain any vitamins for your animal.
What I always recommend for an animal with one of the symptoms above is the use of meat soup and/or bone broth. Please note, that both are different applications and both have a different healing field!
Giving meat soup/bone broth contains important healing substances that help restore the intestinal wall and improve the absorption of nutrients. And this is the easiest way to combat the symptoms of allergies and itching. This could solve more than half of your pet's complaints. In a pretty cheap way!
The difference between bone broth and meat soup?
Making this healing soup is not difficult and even if you don't have time, there is a powdered form of bone broth to add to your dog's food as a superfood (of course that is the easy way and a lot more expensive). To learn how to make bone broth/soup, we would like to invite you to our group, see the link above, as well as how to get the most health-promoting substances in it and how much you should give. Just like where you can buy quality bone broth and what you should pay attention to.
What is bone broth?
Bone broth is long-cooked bones of any animal species, simmered after frying, for a long time of 12-48 hours, during which the bones become supple and all the nutrients from the marrow and bones seep out. You need a long cooking time for this. Bone broth contains many important vitamins and minerals, but also gelatin, which has an important function in the intestines and has a strong healing effect. It also has the ability to greatly strengthen sick animals and old animals. Still, bone broth should be used sparingly. It can be used daily, but it also has a strong "purifying" effect on the organs and can therefore cause a hex, which means a rapid purification of the organs and where the body cannot process all the toxins released. Also in cases where your dog no longer has a good appetite or has difficulty eating. Can bone broth mean a lot to your sweetheart's health.
What is meat soup?
Meat soup is a soup made from 1 type of meat or different types of meat. Cooked until the meat falls off the bone (which can be approximately 3-5 hours). With meat soup you can boil off the head of an animal, with the brain and tongue still present, boil off fish bones with the head still attached, tails of animals, legs... The list goes on, but the fat from chicken skin and whether legs are present. Important nutrients seep into the broth. Meat soup is ideal for the Fodmap diet, where you provide an animal with serious allergies and/or digestive complaints with essential vitamins and the opportunity to recover the intestines and, above all, work specifically on allergies. Fodmap applications for your dog must be continued for 21 days before you will see results. Meat soup can be given as a snack to healthy dogs. And is good "maintenance advice" for adding health.
What to take into account?
It is important to take the general health of your animal into account, so start slowly by adding bone broth, bone supplementation, or meat soup. Build up slowly! Always mix it first with the current food being used. This soup or powder may contain quite a bit of "fat", which may initially cause your dog to have diarrhea and/or liquid stools. This is no reason to stop! A dog can ALWAYS tolerate this application and treatment, NO ONE is allergic to broth! BUT your sweetheart may be more sensitive to fish, chicken, or beef, for example. So it's a matter of testing what your sweetie tolerates best.
In our current society, meat is often improperly grown, which can cause antibiotics and/or hormones to be present in the meat. Or are they raised with too many grains in their last days, causing an omega 3/6/9 imbalance. THAT is no reason not to give your animal raw meat, bone broth, and/or meat soup. Giving meat to your dog/cat is still the best thing you can do!
Just keep your common sense! If you buy yourself a nice chicken from a free-range or an organic farm, keep the legs in a bag in the freezer, if you have enough you can make a tasty stock. The same applies to grass-fed beef, dare to buy half a kilo for your sweetheart and make a delicious soup from it. You can store this in the freezer in ice cubes and add a cube to your dog's food daily.
If you want to use bone powder as a supplement for your dog, look for grass-fed animals and build up this carefully, also make sure that there is not too much salt in these soups, which is harmful to the kidneys. Also keep in mind that if you make your own soup or broth, your dog will not benefit from seasoning, salt and/or onions/vegetables or garlic! These things should not be present in your dog's broth, as they have an anti-nutritional effect on the absorption of diseased intestines.
Who am I?
Want to improve or maintain your sweetheart's health naturally? Ever since I was little, I worked with different animal species and their health. It has become life-defining for me and has led me to study veterinary advice. My experience with animals throughout my life has now developed me into a true encyclopedia. 25 years of health experience with animals does not leave you cold. My experience does not only extend to dogs, cats, or rodents, but since I was 21 I have also treated many horses. Our move to Hungary has added our experience with small livestock and this advice can therefore also be extended to sheep, goats, rabbits, pigeons, chickens... and so on.
Out of love for the animal, I know how frustrating chronic issues are with your animal, which often leaves veterinarians at a loss. Here in Hungary, first aid is often not available due to the limited availability of veterinarians. In my village, I am known as the homeopath who is available almost 24/7 for advice and first aid. Due to my experience, I ALWAYS look at the animal holistically and therefore do not treat it solely on symptoms. Many animals owe their lives to my quick reactions, broad knowledge, and frequent presence.
BUT don't forget; that often the problem is already in the intestines. Nutrition, stress, toxins, and the substances that your animal has or has not received from the mother dog, play a major role in the development of many chronic complaints later in life.
